Introduction

At Seek First, we believe your privacy is paramount. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Seek First is designed with privacy at its core. We do not sell your personal information. We do not collect or transmit your Screen Time data or app usage details to our servers. All app blocking logic runs locally on your device.

Our service is not directed to children under 13 years of age.

Data We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Apple, we receive:

  • A unique Apple identifier for your account
  • Your email address (which may be a private relay address if you chose to hide your email)
  • Your name (if you choose to provide it)

App Settings and Preferences

We store your app settings to provide core functionality:

  • Your daily scripture study goal (in minutes)
  • The list of apps you've chosen to restrict
  • Notification and reminder preferences
  • App preferences and configuration

Subscription Information

If you subscribe to Seek First Premium, we collect:

  • Subscription status and entitlement information via RevenueCat
  • Purchase history (managed by Apple)

We use this information to provide premium features and customer support.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We want to be crystal clear about what we don't collect:

  • Screen Time data: We do not collect or transmit any Screen Time or app usage details to our servers. All blocking and monitoring happens locally on your device using Apple's Screen Time API.
  • App content: We do not access the content of Gospel Library or any other apps on your device.
  • Browsing history: We do not track your web browsing or app activity.
  • Location data: We do not collect your location.
  • Contacts or photos: We do not access your contacts, photos, or other personal files.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect for these purposes only:

  • Provide core functionality: Your settings and goals enable the app to work as intended
  • Sync across devices: If you use multiple Apple devices, your settings sync via your account (using iCloud or our secure database)
  • Process subscriptions: We verify your subscription status to grant access to premium features
  • Customer support: When you contact us, we use your account information to help resolve issues
  • Improve the app: We may analyze aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to improve Seek First

Third-Party Services

Seek First integrates with the following third-party services:

Apple

We use Apple services for authentication (Sign in with Apple), in-app purchases (StoreKit), and app blocking functionality (Screen Time API). Apple's privacy policy applies to their services: apple.com/legal/privacy

Supabase

We use Supabase for secure authentication and database storage. Your settings are stored encrypted on Supabase servers. Supabase's privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat receives your Apple subscription information. RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

Each of these services has their own privacy practices. We encourage you to review their policies.

Data Storage and Security

Your account information and settings are stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Important: Screen Time and app usage data never leaves your device. All blocking logic runs locally using iOS APIs.

Your Rights and Choices

Access and Control

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: You can view your settings and preferences within the Seek First app
  • Correction: You can update your information in the app's Settings
  • Deletion: You can request deletion of your account by emailing support@seekbeforescroll.app. We will delete your data within 30 days.
  • Data portability: You can request a copy of your data by contacting us

Manage Permissions

  • Revoke Screen Time permission: Go to iPhone Settings → Seek First → toggle Screen Time permission off
  • Manage subscription: Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID settings (Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions)
  • Delete your account: Email support@seekbeforescroll.app with a deletion request

Children's Privacy

Seek First is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at support@seekbeforescroll.app and we will delete it.

International Users

Seek First is operated from the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using Seek First, you consent to this transfer and processing.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if you've provided one) or through a notification in the app. Your continued use of Seek First after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy when changes are made.
